Diversion Channel Construction to Muara Angke Reservoir Reaches 80 Percent

Then the water in reservoir can be pumped into the sea.
"It is our effort to overcome tidal flood. Catching area is up to RW 22, Pluit which is impacted by the tidal flood," he said, Thursday (11/21).
Pendi explained that the construction of this diversion channel is planned to be carried out at three points with a length of around 56 meters. The diversion channel with culvert box material has a width of 1.2 meters and a height of around 1 meter.
"The construction has been starting since Monday (11/18) by involving 36 personnel," he explained.
Pendi added the personnel also cleaning the channel starting from RW 22, 11 and up to diversion channel in RW 01, Pluit by 700 meters. His side also deploys two mini excavators and breakers to speed up the work.
He admitted another diversion channel construction has been also prepared around the location. The work will be run in stages.
"The diversion channel construction reaches 80 percent. Hopefully it can be completed tomorrow and continued to another location," he admitted.
Pluit Urban Village Head, Ahmad Faizal appreciated the diversion channel construction to overcome tidal flood.
"By flowing the water to reservoir, it can be pumped out to the sea. So the tidal flood will recede quickly," he said.
